Division of Curriculum Consultation
The Melton Centre for Jewish Education has a long experience of Curriculum Development and Curricular Consultation.
Whereas curriculum projects in the past focused on the development or new teaching approaches and materials, in recent years the focus has been on consultation processes with individual schools and school systems. This way of working acknowledges the crucial importance of the distinct character and needs of each educational environment.
Our ApproachWe stress the importance of empowering the teachers in each school environment to become curriculum developers themselves and to operate as active, critical consumers of educational materials. Only teachers who fully understand the overall meaning and purpose of curriculum change will have the sense of ownership necessary for the successful implementation of change.
